"Hoarder of wings, eagles and waves"

Myrtle beach a place with lots of character...not always good either. A place with flashing lights and places to eat. A place that hoards wings, eagles, and waves. (And no I'm not talking about the animals or the view) A place where I've vacationed ever since I was born.

This place with all it's glitz and glamor has a special place in my heart. This place has been the grounds of many firsts, many tears, many adventures, many stories, that i still tell. Many hard conversations and many life changes ones as well. Summers learning what it looks like to love The Lord with all my heart and the overflow of that would naturally be telling others and becoming more like him.

Sounds so pretty and magical but loving God with your whole heart is hard. It's putting to death all my other little "g" gods and turning towards Christ. It's wrestling with what I know is for my best but losing the grip to my temporary satisfactions. It's taking myself off the throne daily and letting Christ be in his rightful place.

I would never think fertile myrtle would be the place I would say some of the best times of my life happened but that's only because of Christ "working all things out for the good of those who love him" because nothing was a mistake, nothing caught him off guard or made him second guess. He was in authority, in control in all seasons, even though I did not acknowledge him in the majority of them.

In march I will have been walking with The Lord for eight years. Eight. I feel in some ways like I'm just taping into who he is an then on the other hand I think "man eight years is a long time what have I been doing with my life ." Regardless of eight or eighty there will never be a point (on this side of heaven) that I finally get or makes since of Christ. Some things are a mystery and I kinda like that. I kinda like that he is not like me and I can never wrap my mind around him.

Here's to another vacation at the beach, with thankfulness in looking back and encouraged to move forward.
